SOB technology: what it is and why it matters
SOB (Silicon on Board) places LED chips in a continuous line directly onto the flexible printed circuit, encased in a single layer of heat-dissipating silicone resin. This layer is not merely a protective element — it is an integral part of the product’s optical system. The silicone resin diffuses light evenly along the full length of the strip, eliminating the dot visibility typical of traditional LED strips and making any additional diffuser screen unnecessary.
The result is a continuous, clean, uniform line of light with a symmetrical wide-angle beam of 120°, ensuring broad and controlled light distribution.
Direct 220V mains connection: no drivers, simplified installation
The SLC220 operates directly at 220 Vac, removing the need for external power supplies. For installers and designers, this translates into a genuine reduction in installation complexity: fewer components to fit, less space required for drivers, fewer potential failure points over time. The strip connects directly to the mains, with a single power point sufficient to cover runs of up to 50 metres.

Construction and installation

The IP65 external casing and heat-dissipating silicone filling complete a construction built to perform reliably over time, even in demanding environmental conditions.
