The 6060 Modular System: light as geometry

In the world of modular suspended ceiling lighting, the standard LED panel has been the default solution for decades. Functional, cost-effective, quick to install but aesthetically uniform, interchangeable, and lacking any real design identity. LEDCO’s 6060 Modular System was created to move beyond this limitation: not a simple light fitting, but a system of integrated luminous modules that transforms the suspended ceiling into a design surface.

The concept: light as a compositional element

The idea behind the 6060 System is as straightforward as it is effective: each module fits the standard 60×60 format of the suspended grid ceiling, but instead of emitting diffuse uniform light, it integrates precise LED lines that become graphic elements of the composition. The result is a ceiling that doesn’t just illuminate — it draws.

Modules connect via pre-fitted quick connectors — 2 inputs and 2 outputs on each unit — allowing multiple modules to be linked in sequence without additional cabling, making installation straightforward and fast. The system creates continuous luminous patterns across the ceiling with a clean, professional architectural finish.

The three modules in the system

Module 6060 (ART: 6060/X2/___) The base luminous module features two parallel LED lines integrated into the plasterboard and aluminium structure. The lines run parallel across the full length of the module, generating a linear, repeatable light pattern across any surface area. Each module delivers 25W at 24Vdc, with an LED density of 240 LEDs/m, CRI90+, and colour temperatures available in 2700K, 3000K, 4000K, 6000K and RGB. Opal diffuser screen, LED lifespan 50,000 hours.

Module 6060 C (ART: 6060/X2/___/C) The angular variant of the system: the two LED lines are arranged at 90°, creating a right-angle light pattern rather than a double parallel. Identical technical specifications to the base module, but with a different geometry that introduces compositional variation into the grid — corners, frames, luminous borders — without breaking the continuity of the system. Ideal for defining luminous perimeters or creating more complex patterns within the same installation.

Module 6060 Blind (ART: 6060) The complementary element of the system, designed to ensure visual continuity in areas of the ceiling where no illumination is required. The blind module replicates the form, dimensions and materials of the luminous modules — plasterboard structure, same 60×60 footprint — but without any light emission. Its purpose is to make the transition between illuminated and non-illuminated zones invisible, maintaining the visual coherence of the overall installation.

Who it’s designed for

The 6060 System is aimed at those designing commercial spaces, offices, retail environments and hospitality venues where lighting is not a neutral backdrop but an integral part of the space’s visual identity. Architects and lighting designers looking to move beyond the standard panel; installers who need a system that’s genuinely easy to connect thanks to the quick connectors; clients who want a ceiling with character without sacrificing the practicality of the 60×60 format.

A system that turns a technical constraint — the standardised suspended ceiling grid — into a design opportunity.
